Petes top 10 visits in Britain
1. Weekend in the Lake District in winter. To include getting cold and perhaps wet while walking to make the dining, cinema and pub with log fire more appreciated.
2. Driving and wandering round Cotswold villages, including visiting NT houses and gardens, so probably needs to be in season.
3. Edinburgh at festival time, August, for its wide variety of things to do. Although it's probably good at other times as well.
4. Wander round York to include Minster and Railway Museum.
5. Finding good plays on at both theatres preceded by good dining in Stratford on Avon, probably mixed with a Cotswold tour.
6. Tatton Park RHS show.
7. London sightseeing although its a bit crowded for my liking.
8. South Devon Coast, NT houses and paths in sunshine.
9. Duxford Aircraft Museum plus the co-located under-advertised army museum.
10. Scottish Islands in May, which is usually a good spell for weather.
