Preston has increased its Band D from \u00a31566 to \u00a31577.\u00a0 Doesn’t sound a big increase but it sounds like a lot of money. Considering it’s a tax\u00a0paid after tax. Add on your income tax, National Insurance and it really costs around \u00a32000 per household at the mid-band, D. Some houses pay twice that and there are proposals from the Liberal Democrats to add an extra tax for houses over \u00a31m.\u00a0 They also propose a local tax that will get rid of council tax.<\/p>\n
Fire and Police are about \u00a3200 for all regions of Lancashire.<\/p>\n
Preston has its own rate and that is added to Lancashire’s which is \u00a31108, unchanged.\u00a0 Unitary councils like Blackburn\u00a0have the one rate which at Band D is \u00a31476, up \u00a330 this year.\u00a0 While Blackpool is \u00a31516, up \u00a340.<\/p>\n
Other parts of Lancashire like South Ribble pay \u00a31521, Fylde \u00a31486. Although many of the rural villages have Parish Councils that charge up to \u00a330 on top of that.<\/p>\n
